Today starts a big adventure for me. I will accompany my good friend, adventurer and book author Timm Kruse on his new adventure to paddle the pilgrim route from Hendaye in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, on a SUP Board. Timm already paddled the Danube (1770 miles, 10 countries, 3 months) and wrote a book about it.
We will use our SUPs if the weather in the Biskaya allows us to do so, if not we will walk the well known pilgrim routes (Jakobsweg / Camino de Compostela) along the astonishing coasts of Basque Country, Galicia, Cantabria, Asturia and Costa Verde. We will sleep on beaches and in Pilgrim hostels along our 800 km long tour.
Due to the Corona Pandemic my event and film business went to zero this year – not good. But seeing at it from another angle: it is giving me at least some months off and allows me to dare such an adventure. My family is supporting me with their love and power from home.
We will produce video clips with the smallest possible equipment: I-Phones and GoPros. We hope to be able to capture our progress, the challenge, the endurance and us pushing our personal borders. We hope to be able to meet different kind of humans who are on the same path to Santiago de Compostella to find another view of life. Timm will write a book about the adventure. You can find out more about it here (German): https://vimeo.com/437214017
